My name is Steve Hedges. I’ve been a photographer for over 30 years, turning professional around 25 years ago.

During my career I have photographed a huge variety of subjects including public relations photography, commercial photography, portraiture, weddings, landscape and nature. I am fully qualified with the Master Photographer’s Association and the Royal Photographic society and I have been shortlisted in 2011 and 2014 in the “Outdoor Photography” Magazine’s Outdoor Photographer of the year competition, and also shortlisted in the British Wildlife Photographer of the year competition. My ambition is of course to one day win a category!

The main reason for putting this site together was a desire to showcase my personal photography and to promote ArtEscape photography courses. After spending many years as a professional photographer, I have found great enjoyment running photography courses where I have been able to pass on the knowledge that I have gained over the years.

If like me, you enjoy visual arts, I’m sure you’ll understand what a buzz I get when I’m out with a camera in hand watching the fleeting changes of light play across the landscape. Capturing a wildlife event or taking a perfect portrait encourages me to take out a camera time after time.

I have witnessed some magical moments over the years. I hope you enjoy viewing the images on this site and that, in some small way, they will give you a sense of being there.

If you have any comments regarding my work, I would love to hear them.
