Photography Course in the New forest

Dates for 2010 :  Sat. 24th April, (fully booked) and Sun. 1st August, Sat. 30th October

Dates for 2011:   Sun. 1st May, Sun. 14th August, Sun. 30th October

New Forest is a great location for photography

The ancient patchwork of open heath, mature forest, gently running streams and rivers make the New Forest a varied and interesting location for photography.

Many aspects of photography are covered during the workshop. Including the creative use of shutter speeds, control of depth of field, composition, use of colour and light, photographic filters, correct exposure and use of histograms (for digital users).  Most importantly though, is how to develop your photographer's eye.  It's no good having the technical ability to use the camera proficiently if you cannot see a good composition and make the most of it.

Because the New Forest is so varied, the photographic potential is huge. From close-up detail shots to wide-angle landscape images there's something for everyone. And of course the famous New Forest ponies may amble past your lens.

This workshop is limited to a maximum of four or five people. This means that I can tailor the learning experience to each individual.  You will learn in a relaxed atmosphere at your own pace.  All levels of ability are catered for from beginners onwards.  All students receive a set of detailed and fully illustrated notes covering what they have learnt for them to keep and refer back to.

A reasonable level of fitness is required although the terrain is fairly gentle. The small amount of walking involved should  be a pleasant experience adding to your enjoyment of the day.
