Photography Course Training at Flatford Mill Suffolk

I just spent a really enjoyable weekend attending an associate tutor training weekend at the Field Study Council centre in Flatford Mill Suffolk.

I’m very happy to be running a course for the Field Study Council in April at their Flatford Mill centre, hence the training course, which covered the many aspects that are important in running a successful course such as first aid, course planning, health and safety  and I think most importantly offering a course that both fun and informative. There was also much mentioning of cake, this I gather is an important part of the whole process.

I have to say the accommodation was spectacular. My room was in Willie Lotts House, made famous by its appearance in Constables painting “The Hay Wain”.  There’s something very special about walking out of a world famous house and then viewing a fantastic sunrise.

A stunning sunrise was the perfect Photography Course setting

I was very lucky to witness and photograph  a superb  sunrise on the first morning of my stay.  Even better that my chosen location was just a short stroll away from my room.

The food on offer over the whole weekend was excellent. That says something coming from me as I’m the fussiest eater  I know.

So all in all a great weekend and I’m very much looking forward to running a course for the field centre in April. If you would like to book a place on this course which runs on April 22nd ,23rd and 24th please follow the link to the Field Study Centre website http://www.field-studies-council.org/individuals-and-families/courses/2016/fm/photography-for-beginners-and-improvers-59341.aspx

During the course I will cover how to get the best out of your camera (controls and menus such as focus modes, exposure modes, exposure histogram, white balance etc) creative use of shutter speeds, creative use of focal length plus concentrating on developing the photographer’s eye and the use of light and colour. Plus you will have a lot of fun taking great photographs around the whole Flatford Mill area which is a great mix of iconic buildings and beautiful Suffolk countryside.
