In brief: My name is Steve Hedges. I have been a photographer for over 30 years, turning professional around 27 years ago. Over the years, I have ventured down various avenues to further my career and strengthen my skills/portfolio.

During my career I have photographed a huge variety of subjects including public relations photography, commercial photography, portraiture, weddings, landscape and nature. I am fully qualified with the Master Photographer’s Association and the Royal Photographic Society. I have also been shortlisted in the 2011 and 2014 and 2015 Outdoor photographer of the year competitions and in the British Wildlife photographer of the year competition twice, the last time was in 2015. I would love to go one step further and win a category. Last but not least I am very pleased to have been asked to run photography courses at the Flatford Mill Field Centre in Suffolk. I have also worked with the Kent Heritage Tree Project and most recently had one of my images used as part of a billboard  advertising campaign for Land Rover.

The main reason for putting this site together was a desire to showcase my personal photography and to promote ArtEscape photography courses. After spending many years as a professional photographer, I have found great enjoyment running photography courses where I have been able to pass on the knowledge that I have gained over the years.

If like me, you enjoy visual arts, I’m sure you’ll understand what a buzz I get when I’m out with a camera in hand watching the fleeting changes of light play across the landscape. Capturing a wildlife event or taking a perfect portrait encourages me to take out a camera time after time.

I have witnessed some magical moments over the years. I hope you enjoy viewing the images on this site and that, in some small way, they will give you a sense of being there.

If you have any comments regarding my work, I would love to hear them.
